Admission to the Reading Rooms is free; however, the Archives offer a variety of additional services in exchange for payment of a fee.
In some instances private individuals will not be permitted to search for actual information themselves due to the regulations restricting accessibility. In such a case the visitor may pay a fee and have the records reviewed and searched on his/her behalf to ascertain relevant information such as time and date of birth or results of examinations.
The Archives, furthermore, typically assist Estate Agents and Attorneys in matters of Land Registration and Probate Court investigations. In other matters, such as genealogy, individuals may be referred to private Archive Researchers.
Generally records may be copied; however, special rules may apply to items that are particularly vulnerable, or records affixed with wax seals.
In the Archives' Reading Rooms visitors are permitted to make the copies by themselves; staff will also be available to assist.
Bound records may not be copied, but book scans may be ordered from the Archives.
It is possible to order photographs of material contained in the Records and Archives of the Danish State Archives.
The State Archives can supply copies of records on different media. You can order paper photocopies or scans delivered on CD-ROMs.
Please note that in addition to paying for the requested copied pages, you must also pay for identification, searching and postage of the material sent.

Copies of electronic files are performed upon request and are only taken from the Danish National Archives.
The Archives provide a number of special services for Public Authorities that are obligated to submit their records. This may include services such as organizing and arranging records, providing consultations, etc.
The State Archives Filming Centre is also available to undertake projects for individuals and organizations - e.g. film copying - for a fee.
